Gardener in Wisbech
Perry's Garden Maintenance proudly serves Wisbech and the surrounding area.
Wisbech is home for the business, and where most of my work is. From the terraces near the town centre to the newer estates and the surrounding villages, I keep gardens neat all year round — regular grass cutting, hedges, pruning and tidy-ups.
I'm Perry, and I run Perry's Garden Maintenance myself. The person you speak to about the job is the person who turns up to do it. Because I'm local, a quick look at your garden before I quote is rarely a problem, and fitting a regular visit into a round nearby is easy.
Gardening in and around Wisbech
Wisbech gardens vary a lot. There are the older houses along the North and South Brink by the Nene, the terraces near the centre, the estates around Waterlees and Elm Road, and bigger plots out in the villages. What most of them share is the Fen silt. It is fertile ground, which is good news for your borders and bad news for the weeds and the grass, because everything grows quickly through the season.
The other thing they share is the wind. The land round here is flat and open, so hedges and trees take a battering, and a hedge that is left to get tall and top-heavy suffers for it. Regular, well-timed cutting keeps it dense, even and in shape.
What I do in Wisbech
- Grass cutting in Wisbech: mowing, edging and strimming on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly round, or a one-off cut to bring a long lawn back.
- Hedge cutting in Wisbech: trimming and shaping, from low front hedges to tall conifer screens, with every clipping cleared away.
- Tree pruning in Wisbech: dead and awkward growth taken out and garden trees, including older fruit trees, shaped for balance.
- Bush removal in Wisbech: tired or overgrown shrubs cleared, roots out where practical and the ground left level.
- Weeding in Wisbech: beds, borders, gravel and paving cleared at the root and kept clear with regular visits.
- Garden clearance: overgrown gardens, brambles and years of growth cut back and cleared so you can start again.
Book your autumn and winter hedge cut
Autumn and winter are a good time to get on the list. Deciduous hedges such as hawthorn, beech and privet can be cut back or reduced while they are dormant, before the birds start nesting again in spring. Conifers and leylandii are different: they should not be cut back after August, so I will book those in for late spring. If you are not sure which you have, send me a photo and I'll tell you. My guide to why conifer hedges go brown explains why the timing matters.
The villages around Wisbech
As well as the town I work across the villages nearby, including Elm, Emneth, Friday Bridge, Outwell, Upwell and Three Holes, and out to March and Downham Market. If you are not sure whether I cover your road, send me your postcode.
Every quote is free and there is no obligation. Tell me what needs doing, add a photo if you can, and I'll come back to you with a clear price.

Garden maintenance in Wisbech: your questions
Are you based in Wisbech?
Yes. Most of my work is in Wisbech and the villages around it, so fitting in a look at your garden or a regular visit is usually straightforward.
Can you take on a garden that has got completely overgrown?
Yes. I can cut back and clear an overgrown garden, take the waste away, and then keep it under control with regular visits if you'd like.
Can I book a hedge cut for the autumn or winter?
Yes, for deciduous hedges such as hawthorn, beech and privet, which can be cut back while dormant. Conifers and leylandii are best left until late spring, and I'll book those in then.
