Tree pruning in March
Careful tree pruning across March, keeping garden trees healthy, safe and well shaped, with all cuttings cleared.
Out on the open Fen around March there's little to slow the wind, so keeping garden trees well pruned is as much about safety as appearance. I take out dead and hazardous growth and shape trees for balance across the town and nearby villages.
Safe and healthy
Removing dead, diseased or crossing branches keeps a tree strong, and cutting back limbs that hang over a path, shed or fence reduces the risk when a storm rolls in off the fields.
Orchard and garden trees
Many March gardens have old fruit trees that fruit far better for a sensible prune, and I thin ornamental trees to let more light down onto the garden below.
Cleared and tidy
All the cuttings are gathered and taken away as part of the job.

Do you remove whole trees?
I concentrate on pruning and shaping rather than felling. For large removals I'll point you towards a tree surgeon.
Can pruning save a struggling tree?
Often, yes — clearing dead and diseased wood helps a tree recover. I'll take a look and give you an honest view.
